Within my 22- hour consumption of social media. I fulfilled the needs for following people's daily lives, talking to friends, and posting my daily plans, resulting in a negative impact on my identity. First, the majority of social media is about staying connected with friends and family, leading to most of my time spent scrolling through other's daily lives. This time results in wasted time because most of the posts made aren't life changing events. Along with time being spent scrolling through my news feed, I spent time talking to my friends. This would include forms of communication through chats or pictures. Although social media makes communicating with others more accessible , it is taking away face to face conversations. Along with these other actions on social media, I also would spend my time posting pictures and statuses. By doing this, it is letting others inside my life and to some degree, posting takes away your privacy. In conclusion, I feel like my media consumption is over used, making no part of my life private anymore.
